Engineering Verification & Structural Calculations

This add-on provides state-stamped structural engineering documentation and calculations for your roof kit to assist with local permitting requirements.

When selected, a licensed professional engineer will review the installation location and applicable jurisdictional requirements to verify whether the standard pre-engineered roof kit design meets or exceeds the required design criteria for the project site.

If local code requirements exceed the design capacity of the standard roof kit, additional materials, engineering, and modifications may be required. Any costs associated with required upgrades are the responsibility of the customer and will be quoted separately.

What's Included

• State-specific stamped structural engineering plans (excluding soil reports and geotechnical analysis)
• Engineer review of applicable jurisdiction requirements
• Verification of roof kit design for:
  • Wind loads
  • Snow loads
  • Seismic loads (where applicable)
• Structural calculations required by the engineer
• Professional engineer stamp (engineering restamp)
• Documentation suitable for permit submittal

• Engineering documents are non-refundable once work has begun.
• Approval is subject to acceptance by the local building department.
• This service does not include permit application, filing, or submission.
• The engineering review is performed to verify compliance of the pre-engineered roof kit design with local code requirements. It is not a custom-engineered building design service.
• If local jurisdiction requirements exceed the design limits of the standard roof kit, additional engineering, materials, and modifications may be required at the customer's expense.
• Pricing for this engineering service does not include any required structural upgrades or modifications identified during the review process.

Site-Specific Plans

Unless specifically stated otherwise, roof kits do not include site-specific engineered plans. This engineering add-on provides engineering review and stamped documentation for permitting purposes but does not include custom site-specific building design.

When Is Engineering Required?

Many jurisdictions require stamped engineering documents for permit approval. If you choose to purchase a kit without engineering, the buyer assumes all responsibility for determining compliance with local codes, permit requirements, and installation regulations.
