Mica Powder Additive

Mica Powder Additives are premium, finely milled mineral pigments designed to create metallic, pearlescent, and shimmering effects in epoxy resin systems. When mixed into clear, colored, or sand epoxy, mica powders disperse evenly to produce rich color depth, natural movement, and a durable decorative finish.

These additives are compatible with 2-part epoxy systems used for floor coatings, sand epoxy applications, and tabletop pours, offering consistent color performance without compromising epoxy workability when used within recommended dosage ranges.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Produces metallic, pearlescent, and reflective effects

  • Highly concentrated for strong color with low load rates

  • Compatible with clear epoxy, sand epoxy, and tabletop epoxy

  • Fine particle size for smooth dispersion

  • Non-toxic, inert mineral pigment

  • Color stable when properly encapsulated in epoxy

Typical Applications

  • Decorative epoxy floor systems

  • Sand epoxy and broadcast floor coatings

  • Metallic epoxy floors

  • Tabletop and bar top epoxy projects

  • Artistic and custom epoxy finishes

Recommended Usage

  • Typical dosage: 1–5% by weight of mixed epoxy

  • Start at 1–2% for subtle effects

  • Increase gradually for stronger color intensity

  • Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended maximum pigment loading

Mixing Instructions

  1. Fully mix epoxy Part A and Part B according to manufacturer instructions.

  2. Slowly add mica powder while mixing.

  3. Mix until color is uniform and free of clumps.

  4. Apply epoxy immediately within pot life.

Important Notes

  • Excessive pigment loading may affect epoxy curing or performance.

  • Final appearance depends on application method, film thickness, and lighting conditions.

  • Always perform a small test batch before full application.

Packaging

Available in multiple sizes to support small projects or full-scale installations.
